  3. MainLine is a Project Management Tool. It helps you easily develop a Gantt/Pert
  4. chart for a project. Up to 150 tasks and milestones are supported, over a 5-year
  5. period. A uniquely formatted chart is displayed on the screen. A large amount
  6. of project activity is displayed in a relatively small area. A pop-up editing
  7. window allows easy changes. The printed output of MainLine is exactly what
  8. is seen on the screen. It is a text file suitable for electronic mailing, or
  9. viewing with a word processor. A hardcopy of the chart can be used for
  10. presentations - it transfers directly to "Viewgraphs" or other types of
  11. transparencies. Other types of project data reports are also available.

  13. Many other features are provided to ease working on larger projects, such as;
  14.  
  15.       - ROLLUP provides a top-level summary of activities.
  16.       - IMPORT merges multiple small projects together.
  17.       - COPY repeats often-used groups of tasks/milestones
  18.       - SEARCH, FIND, and GOTO locate or sort tasks/milestones
  19.         if not presently on screen.
  20.       - RENUMBER "cleans up" the project if numerous edits have been
  21.         made over time.

  24. Installation
  25. ------------
  26. MainLine runs on IBM-style PCs and compatibles. 360K free memory
  27. is needed. The files supplied on the diskette are listed and described
  28. in the file PACKING.LST. The executable file and the documentation are
  29. included in the compressed, self-extracting file MAINLINE.EXE. This file
  30. must be copied into a working subdirectory on your hard disk, and
  31. then executed. This will generate several files including the executable program
  32. file ML.EXE

  38. MainLine is copyrighted. It is not a public domain program. It is being
  39. distributed as Shareware, which means that you may initially evaluate it
  40. at no charge, but if you keep it and use it you must pay a registration fee.
